Vibe Hotel

Vibe Hotel Canberra

Designed by Bates Smart, the Vibe Hotel at the Canberra International Airport was influenced by the geometry of Walter Burley Griffin’s plan for Canberra. Bates Smart’s design utilises both circular and axial geometries to form a unique building that includes 191 rooms over six levels, and a full height atrium. At its base, the atrium boasts a bar, restaurant and lounges with a luxe interior inspired by the ‘golden age’ of air travel in the 1960’s and 70’s.

Completed in 2015, this breathtaking building has won numerous awards; including the National Emil Sodersten Award for Interior Architecture, Master Builders and Cbus Excellence in Building Award and the ACT Australian Institute of Architects awards for Commercial Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Light in Architecture.
