ACTivate: Mending the Urban Fabric

The fabric of our garden city rips and bulges in places where it is stressed, forming cracks and holes in our roads and footpaths.

This project by landscape architects from the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects and friends is apart of Design Canberra ACTivate. It involves making small interventions in cracks and potholes along Lonsdale Street, Genge Street and Garema Place by filling and reinterpreting them using ephemeral materials. These installations will be removed at the end of the festival so make sure you go along to see this innovative architecture project.

Mending the Urban Landscape is currently popping up between Braddon and the City as part of DESIGN Canberra, keep an eye out!
