“A point of difference” brings together the work of three contemporary Australian ceramicists, Kelly Austin, Dai Li and Kenji Uranishi. Each artist shows a mastery of technique but from a distinct point of view. Dai Li’s quirky hand built and painted stoneware figures reveal characters engaged in everyday activities. The work of Kelly Austin invites quiet contemplation with her subtle and carefully considered arrangements of ceramic objects in still life compositions. Kenji Uranishi is inspired by organic and architectural forms to create his highly stylised porcelain sculptures. Bringing the work of these talented artists together offers the opportunity to reflect on each artist’s work whilst celebrating the diversity of ceramic practice.
