A Room of One’s Own
Referencing Virginia Woolf’s classic feminist essay of the same name, this project will provide a space for female designers to develop their practice and flourish. This exhibition will also take its title more literally and have a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, dining room and study displaying designs that pertain to various feminist topics and issues. These rooms will feature designs, prototypes and hacked objects that highlight, explore, challenge and inform about aspects of gender roles and inequality. It will be a practical and physical application of feminist theory and concepts, the growing social movement and the experiences of women.
