Jewellery Making with Krystal Hurst
Adorn yourself with your own native seed necklace and earrings guided by Krystal Hurst, Worimi artist of Gillawarra Arts. In this workshop you will get hands on experience in decorating and drilling seeds as well as twining your own string. You will also learn about the cultural uses of native seeds and how they are used for contemporary Aboriginal self-expression.

Krystal Hurst is a Worimi artist and owner of Gillawarra Arts, a creative arts business originating from the Mid North Coast of NSW and now based in Canberra, ACT. She is a jewellery designer, painter, cultural facilitator with a vision for women and men to feel strong, connected and empowered. With traditional techniques such as weaving, twining, burning and threading, Krystal’s inspiration comes from Country, memories, stories and community integrated in an a meaningful way.
Gillawarra Arts is a creative arts business originating from the mid north coast of NSW. Krystal Hurst is a Worimi woman who designs handmade jewellery using materials from nature, and specialises in contemporary Aboriginal artworks on canvas, murals and running workshops.
