Australian Institute of Architects Walking Tour: Subtle Geometries, Decisive Futures

Strong architecture requires consideration of surface, structure, space, and above all spirit.

Join ANU Heritage Advisor/Creative Director of Canberra Modern on a free walking tour of numerous wonderful buildings within the ANU where you will:

+ see how modernist architects created form and order within a new city; + understand how individual buildings were shaped to balance requirements of the masterplan and that of the faculties; + see examples of pioneering and experimental ideas in built form; and + understand how the built environment can contribute to our cultural heritage.

Please meet at the front entrance of University House, ANU at 1:45pm. Bookings essential.

DESIGN Canberra acknowledges the Ngunnawal people as the traditional custodians of the ACT and surrounding areas. We honour and respect their ongoing cultural and spiritual connections to this country and the contribution they make to the life of this city and this region. We aim to respect cultural heritage, customs and beliefs of all Indigenous people.
