This is an opportunity to meet metalsmiths Sarah Murphy and Angela Bakker in their shared studio at M16 Artspace. Sarah and Angela studied gold and silversmithing at the ANU School of Art and have shared a studio since 2012. Both metalsmiths work within their own practice primarily with precious and non-precious metal to create sculptural artworks as well as production-line work in functional objects and jewellery. The open studio will be an opportunity to see the processes involved when working in metal as well as to discuss the inspiration and ideas behind their work. A selection of works will be available for sale on the day.
