Architecture Tour

Take a tour inside the active restoration of a 1930’s Canberra cottage in Griffith.

Built in 1933 by the Federal Capital Commission, this cottage is a Type 1A design – one of 22 housing types designed by Canberra’s first Architects, designed to attract to and house public servants to Canberra.

The new owners are no strangers to Canberra’s design industry, the owner, Steven Cetrtek, is the Director of Thursday Architecture and he is embarking on this project for his family. Steven has partnered with builder, Richard McGrath of D3 Projects who has restored a number of Canberra’s heritage homes.

This tour encapsulate one of the themes of the festival: transformation and will show visitors the home while it is part way through being refurbished.
