Beyond the Hype | Human-Centred Design of Public Policy

The Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA ACT), in partnership with DESIGN Canberra, is hosting a discussion to explore human-centred design across the public sector.

Human-centred design is a creative and strategic approach to tackling public policy problems by putting the user at the heart of solution design. This event will move beyond the hype and rhetoric of human-centred design to explore its key principles, what it means in practice and lessons from its recent application. Featuring the heads of design and innovation labs, the event will explore the potential and challenges of human-centred design in the real world of policy making and service delivery.

Alison Larkins, Principal of Nous Group and IPAA Council Member will be chairing the event.

The three speakers for this event will be Petr Adamek, CEO of Canberra innovation Week, Anothony McGinness, Policy Design Director of Mentally Friendly and Sharyn Clarkson, Assistant Secretary of the Online Services Branch at the Department of Finance.
