Canberra Modern: Silent Witnesses – An exhibition of artworks by Martin Rowney
An exhibition of works by Martin Rowney
This exhibition features sculptural pieces created with original fittings from one of ANU’s most significant buildings. Early Bakelite switches and power points, Negretti & Zambra thermographs, pressure gauges, fans and bells were salvaged by ANU Heritage during the refurbishment of the John Curtin School of Medical Research. Martin Rowney has repurposed these objects to reflect upon the dichotomy between the significant nature of the research undertaken at the John Curtin School, and the relatively ordinary nature of everyday objects that were silent witnesses to these important events.
Artist talk with Martin Rowney – 2pm on Sunday 12 November
