City Art Program: Graphic Interventions

The City Art Program places the works of artists and designers front and centre in our city streets.  Explore the CBD and discover the their work splashed across windows, pavements and bus shelters.  14 local artists and designers respond to this year’s festival theme and present their geometry inspired artworks.

Congratulations to all selected artists, and a big thankyou to all the participating businesses who are supporting creativity and artists in our community by showcasing their work.


Vote for your Favourite in the People’s Choice Awards

Snap a picture of your favourite artwork, upload it to Instagram, follow @designcanberrafestival and tag it with #cityartcbr2018 for your chance to win a design lovers package from festival partners including restaurants, bars and shops.

The winning artist and entrant will be announced at Museum of Possibilities on City Hill  on 22 November at 12:30pm, ahead of the Visible City Forum

People’s Choice Competition Terms and Conditions

The People’s Choice competition runs from 9am 6 November to 11:59pm 21 November

Multiple entries are permitted but only one entry per artwork, per person will be accepted.

The artist/designer with the most images of their work submitted to the competition during advertised entry dates will win the people’s choice award

The winning participant for the people’s choice prize will be randomly selected from entries received during advertised entry dates

Copyright for all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. However, in consideration of their providing the Competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to DESIGN Canberra and Craft ACT to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of their publications, their websites and/or in any promotional material connected to this competition.

Judges decisions will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Winners will be notified via Instagram message


This program is supported by the ACT Government through the City Renewal Authority’s City Grant’s Program.
Transport Canberra has also supported to project by providing access to two iconic bunker bus shelters.

Artworks have been installed by the fabulous teams at Graffikpaint and Rojo Customs
