Coiling with colour

with Jenny Manning

Learn how to make a small coiled bowl by wrapping irrigation tubing with coloured yarns. Learn to join the tubing and change colours to create an interesting geometric pattern. These skills can be used to create larger baskets and bowls.

About the teacher: Jenny Manning has been obsessed with wrapping, knotting, tangling and constructing with rope, wool and other fibres since her studies in the 1980s. She has created and made drawings of three dimensional wrapped and knotted structures during her sculpture degree and these forms have been referred to in her practice ever since.
