Craft ACT Saturday Workshop: Risograph Printing 101 – Art Zine
Investigate the unique and colourful aesthetic of this fun and eco-friendly printmaking method, with the quick-fire creation of your own original art zine – inspired by the form, tone and colour in Frank Hinders ‘Star Ceiling’. A wide variety of materials will be provided for mark making, stamping, painting, drawing and collage, but you are welcome to BYO your favourite materials to experiment with. No previous experience required. You will leave with a set of zines, a ‘how-to-riso’ booklet and riso ink colour charts.
What is risograph? Riso is a stencil printing method, which merges the principles of screen printing and photocopying. An image file is scanned by the machine and burnt onto a master stencil, this is then wrapped around a coloured ink drum. The drum then rotates at high speed, pudhing the soy-ink through the screen and onto the paper as it passes through.
