The Uncertain Shape of Time
This group show brings together works by seven Canberra-based artists that explore the difficulty in representing the concept of time. Each artist approaches the idea of ‘time’ from different perspectives and conceptual grounds, exploring these concepts through printmedia, drawing, painting and sculpture. The artists present new works and series that relate to time, reflecting on different conceptual models of time including the now, relative duration, memory and nostalgia, narrative, chronology and rhythms of the everyday. These different conceptual approaches and responses consider the problem of time as an open question, with no fixed answer or defined shape.
The exhibiting artists include Bronte Bell, Samantha Corbett, Maximillian Gosling, Francis Kenna, Clare Jackson, Alex Lundy, and Elise Stanley.
