Felt finger puppet workshop
Create a hand-felted finger puppet. Use wool rovings, silk tops, soap, water and a resist to create a 3D shape. The only sewing is to attach the beady eyes.
Wet feltmaking is a repetitive process. Senses are engaged through sight, smell and touch. Whilst there is a goal in mind, often the end result is a surprise. Feltmaking provides a ‘safe place’ to take creative risks. There is no ‘wrong’, just ‘different’.
About the teacher: Canberra Region Feltmakers was formed in 1994 by 14 keen felt makers. From those early beginnings, helped along by a cold climate that is felt friendly and a region producing fine merino, CRF has developed into an active group. The group meets each month, runs a busy workshop and felting fun program and demonstrates feltmaking at public events.
