iDyll : 2017 Sturt School for Wood Graduating Exhibition

This exhibition highlights works by the graduating students of the one year intensive course in fine furniture. The twelve students are from Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, Queensland, ACT and NSW, ranging from 22 to 55 years old and from such diverse backgrounds as barista, graphic and interior designers, construction workers, electricians, teacher, musician, editor, panel beater and an acrobat. Throughout the year, students completed set projects including specialised tools, boxes, the iconic bread board and a tool cabinet and then moved on to designing their own pieces to set briefs which include a hall or coffee table with a drawer; an item with curved elements of steam bending, laminating or coopering; a batch product; a major exhibition piece and a chair.
