Glassworks Studio Artist, Christine Atkins and Greg Piper have collaborated to produce Illumine which documents the making, installation and viewing of Christine Atkins’ most recent work; Illumine Chandelier. The work explores the similarity in light distortions as it passes through glass or water. An LED and glass lens resting inside each sphere create the distorted light that is captured on the surface. 22 of these spheres are then arranged to create the chandelier. Illumine captures the many and varied materials and processes that are needed to create such a seemingly simple form.
