Aeoncademy: Open Studio
It’s Aeoncademy’s FIFTEENTH YEAR! We have seen many changes over the years: in our host school Yarralumla Primary, in outside school hours care, and in Canberra itself. And now, Aeoncademy itself is changing and becoming the not-for-profit social enterprise it has been moving towards all these years.
Thousands of children have come through our doors to discover a passion for the arts: playing with clay, learning to oil paint, re-enacting medieval battles, playing characters from throughout history and mythology, and engaging with learning through play. They’ve also enjoyed hands-on experience with cooking, gardening and sustainability practices.
Our philosophy of Education through Creativity extends to all ages, offering work experience for teenagers and employing many of the young people who have grown up through our programs. Our workshops have popped up throughout Canberra at festivals, the NGA and a range of art centres.
Aeoncademy has always been committed to nurturing the creative spark in people of all ages, exploring how the arts enrich our lives, and building community.
Come and have a play and see for yourself.
