Fran Romano Ceramic’s Open Studio is open at 10:00am – 4:00pm on Saturday, 19 November at 22 Allambee Street, Reid, ACT.

Working from a backyard studio in Canberra’s Inner-city, Fran’s art practice is complemented by her teaching and design work. Drawing on her background as a Social Worker, she also facilitates mindful making experiences using the medium of clay.

Fran’s practice is a slow and evolving one. Exploring ideas of memory, nostalgia and the passage of time, she aims to create a quiet, contemplative space for the viewer or user of her work. Fran has developed functional designs for Cafes and restaurants including Rye Cafe in Braddon and Jackalope Hotels in Victoria. Fran currently works from her home studio in Reid. Visitors can expect tours of a working ceramics studio, refreshments and work available for purchase.
