Open Studio: Frattempo Ceramics (Fran Romano)

Since completing a Diploma of Visual Art (Ceramics) at ANU School of Art in 2013, Fran has been developing her art practise. She also designs and makes functional-ware under the name FRATTEMPO.

Fran regularly exhibits in group shows nation-wide. Her work is inspired by memory, history and nostalgia investigated through the use of layering and experimentation with surface texture and photographic imagery.

Fran hopes that her pieces encourage the user or viewer to slow down a while, pause and enjoy the moment.

Throughout the day there will be

  • Throwing demonstrations
  • Display and sale of artworks
  • Display and sale of functional items and homewares
  • Tea/coffee/refreshments will be available
  • Make an ephemeral ‘wishing’ vessel to take with you

We honour and respect their ongoing cultural and spiritual connections to this country and the contribution they make to the life of this city and this region. We aim to respect cultural heritage, customs and beliefs of all Indigenous people.
