Kirandeep has been working as a full-time artist for the past 25 years. She is a multi-disciplinary (visual and textile) artist and an art educator. Her art brings together my experience of living in and traveling through different countries and learning from their cultures. Art is a meditative process for her, it is about her life and her surroundings.

Since Feb 2020, Kiran has been an organiser for Migrant Women’s Art Group in Gungahlin supported by GungahlinArts. In 2019 ASOC Spring Exhibition, Kirandeep won the third prize in acrylics for her entry “Under Fire”. In 2015, she was a facilitator for Artist by the River Projects 7 and 8 in Perth, WA. Through this project art was made accessible for adults with mild to severe disabilities. Kirandeep was recognised by the Rotary Club of Swan Valley, Western Australia for her dedication towards the project.

KiranDesigns is a small sustainable art business which celebrates art in wearable items and wall art. The plain white silk is sourced from India and after the dyeing process the garments (kaftans) are stitched locally in Canberra. kirandesignstudio.com
