Open studio: Lea Durie
Lea Durie is a ceramic artist and studio holder at the Watson Arts Centre. Durie makes contemporary and tactile functional ceramic objects for the home, using strong simple forms and taking colours of the earth. Durie’s work draws on her background as a landscape architect and is inspired by the patterns formed by land use.
Lea Durie is completing a Bachelor of Visual Arts at the ANU School of Art and Design and developing an artistic practice alongside her functional work. At the open studio, Durie will be showing works in progress, completed works and will also be demonstrating making with clay. There will be works for sale.
