Open Studio: Priyanka Kaul
Priyanka Kaul is an interdisciplinary maker whose practice spans textile, photography, art, books, fashion and objects.
Her collections explore several areas of research, including the intersection of different Asian cultures, the translation between art and craft, the draping and painting of handwoven sarees and the role of females in cultural preservation.
Kaul’s process begins with a series of movements on paper followed by an exploration of textures and mediums. Through visual storytelling, she unites her cultural research and design principles to form collections that share her daily negotiation between her Asian and Australian heritage.
Priyanka Kaul’s studio is open as part of ANCA Mitchell open studios.
