Spinning Gum Pottery’s Open Studio is open at 10:00am – 4:00pm on 12 November at 18 Kerferd Street, Watson, ACT.

Chris is known for his refined hand-thrown tableware and teapots, high-fired using glazes he develops to reflect his ongoing exploration of colour, surface and texture. Chris Harford is a full-time ceramic artist, known for his refined tableware and teapots, and has been a professional potter for nearly 35 years. High-fired stoneware and porcelain functional work has always been a major focus of his practice. Currently he designs and makes contemporary tableware for a number of prestigious Canberra restaurants, dinner sets for private clients, commissions and pieces for exhibition.Visitors can expect to meet Chris and is open to question about his work and practise. Chris will have wheel-throwing demonstrations throughout the day, and he will open a gas kiln and electric kiln of fired tableware from 11am. An assortment of tableware will be available for purchase.
