Open Studio: The Lighthouse Studio (Sue Gascoigne)

Gascoigne works in a home-based studio and workshop, housing a large electric kiln in the garage. There is ample hanging and display space.

She is a mixed media artist/designer who creates sterling silver and found object wearable works, mediated slip cast ceramic works and small wall sculptures which utilise a variety of found and man-made materials often juxtaposed in whimsical or ironic ways.

Sue will have on display in her studio:

  • A selection of statement mixed media and found object wearable works in acrylic display boxes
  • Statement wearable works, including statement brooches, pendants and chains utilising a selection of sterling silver, semi-precious stones, freshwater pearls and glass
  • Functional, utilitarian sterling silver bowls/dishes
  • Mixed media relief wall sculptures.
