Open Studios: Cathy Franzi and Chris Harford
Cathy Franzi and Chris Harford work full-time from their home studios with both artists taking a very different approach to making ceramics. Harford makes robust tableware for high-end Canberra restaurants, developed and designed in collaboration with each chef. More recently he has been developing his own retail range with support from Arts ACT Homefront funding. Franzi’s art practice has a botanical and environmental focus. She makes wheel-thrown and altered porcelain vessels, carving the clay surface to depict Australian plants.
At the open studio, visitors will be able to see artworks in progress as well as examples of new work developed over the past six months, with assistance from Homefront funding from Arts ACT.
