A micro park is the smallest type of park in the hierarchy of parks – an intimate, human-scale public space that activates the space and provides opportunities for conversation, connection and a pause point. The micro park design was decided through a community design competition and a community vote on shortlisted designs to determine the winning entry. The Grounds of Garema concept received the most votes and has been further designed by a Landscape Architect in collaboration with the winner. The concept is for intergenerational elements, hyper real colours and is inspired in part by Ghibli Studio movies. It will feature a community piano, mounds of artificial turf, tables and seating.
