Tim Reeves: House Design Competition in the ACT

Join housing historian, Tim Reeves as he discusses his new book, Winning Homes: 75 Australian House Design Competitions. The book details a rich history dating back to 1827, exploring seventy-five Australian house design competitions over 150 years. The talk will show how the ACT led the nation in terms of significance, distinctiveness and reach, and reveal how one competition very nearly changed the face of Canberra.

Tim Reeves is the co-author of the 2013 book, 100 Canberra Houses: A Century of Capital Architecture, which earned the Clem Cummings Medal from the ACT Institute of Architects. He researched Australian house design competitions as a PhD candidate at the University of South Australia, after completing a BA with first-class honours from the University of Adelaide. In addition to books he has published a wide array of academic and other work.
