Behind the Scenes at the National Archives Preservation Facility
Enjoy special access at this behind the scenes tour at the National Archives purpose built, state of the art storage and preservation facility for more than 15 million records (paper, film, photographs, objects and digital records).
The National Archives Preservation Facility is environmentally controlled and energy-efficient. The passive, green design minimises National Archives’ environmental footprint while preserving government records, underpinning the democratic process and ensuring public access to historical documents. The facility includes specialised workspaces for conservation and digitisation activities, enabling the continued preservation of significant aspects of Australia’s heritage.
Join us to explore the ways archival records are preserved through this masterfully designed building and gain an understanding of record collection and management.
