Contemporary Architecture Tour: Crace Eclectic House by Megaflora
What would happen if you started with recycled materials first? And then produced a design utilising with what was available? Located on a steep block in one of Canberra’s newer greenfield suburbs, nothing within the walls is ‘ordinary’ or off-the-shelf, an idea out of step with most suburban housing.
With an overarching theme which became eclectic; it wasn’t a house that had to be art deco or mid-century but a mashup. Carefully designed for maximum thermal comfort and energy efficiency, a key driver in every MyMyMy Project and Megaflora project.
The diverse provenance of the materials became the narrative for the project. Join Daniel Fitzpatrick of Megaflora Project and take a tour of this extraordinary home.
This house is located in Crace and the address details will be emailed to signed up participants one week prior to the event.
