Ginninderry Tracks B

Tour

Register for a guided walk by Ginninderry Conservation Trust staff, leaving from Shepherd’s Lookout, stopping at key locations along the trail throughout the morning. There also will be creative activities for children and adults at ‘Gruners Vista’.

An opportunity to be immersed in natural surroundings on a walk connecting the urban area of Ginninderry to the popular Shepherds Lookout. The track weaves its way for 3.4 kilometres between The Link (Ginninderry) and the existing ACT Government track network. From there it’s a further 800 metres along the existing pathway to Shepherds Lookout. This track gives visitors the opportunity to walk through areas which were previously inaccessible to the public. It weaves through two forest types and native grassland areas, and passes ever-changing vegetation types and landscapes, including the vista down the Murrumbidgee River captured in the painting Weetangera (1937) by Elioth Gruner. Visitors can download the Ginninderry Tracks application to their phone, and listen to location based audio stories along the walk.

Throughout the walk you will come across fantastic sculptures by Adam Fromholtz representing local native grasses.
