Step back in time, into the ads of Australia’s past. This exhibition showcases our rich collections of Australian advertising and explores the messages behind many iconic and long forgotten ads.
Ephemeral by nature, often lasting in impact, advertising can reflect how much or just how little Australian society has changed over the centuries. From wanted posters to ads for underwear and chocolates, Vegemite and Victa Mowers, to the ‘Life. Be in it’ and ‘Do the Right Thing’ campaigns, there will be something to push everyone’s buttons!
