Make My day gets beneath the surface of this city. While Canberra is typically represented to outsiders as grand vistas, monumental infrastructure and federal politics, the people who live here experience a different place—a place where you can live rather than just exist. This workshop explores what is unique about Canberra as an innovation ecosystem that has a small population, rich complexity and is an intersection of design, science, art, environment, educational institutes, and local and federal politics.

The workshop is divided into two parts. First participants will take a narrative of five to six photos that describes their path through Canberra. Second part of the project is to participate in DESIGN Canberra ACTivate. There you will receive a set of postcards made of your photographed pathway through Canberra, and join them to a collage of other pathways through the city. ThinkPlace will be interested in the patterns this collections of journeys makes and the unplanned stories it tells. Together we will observe how we inhabit the city, how the city defines us and how we define the city.
