Every item tells a story, from an old book to a pair of unworn, expensive shoes. If you have ever walked into a second-hand shop, picked up an item and sensed a story behind it, this casual pop-up is for you. The Green Shed Shop in Civic stocks many items that show the history of design over the last 100 years or so. During this pop-up, we will select interesting items in the shop and display them. You choose an item and find its story. Who designed it and why? Who owned it? Why did it end up at the tip? What might it become next? You are then invited to write about your personal reactions to the item and even transform it into something else by sketching out a design. Sit at the big table in the Green Shed café and share ideas. Drop by any time. We will supply paper and pens (sourced from the tip of course) and display your stories and designs.
