Join Canberra Airport’s Richard Phillips and Guida Moseley Brown Architects’ Design Principal Harold Guida for an exclusive walking tour of the new, award-winning Canberra Airport Terminal. The tour includes ‘airside’ facilities and operations (access not normally available to the general public), as well as landscaped courtyards and integrated artwork.
At the start of 2005, the Canberra Airport embarked on an ‘AirVolution’, which involved planning and developing a new airport terminal. Guida Moseley Brown Architects won a design competition for the project. The new 60,000 square metre passenger terminal is framed by two multi-storey vehicle carparks, and upper-level office facilities. A central atrium is featured and an iconic entrance. The new passenger terminal opened on 13 March 2013, coinciding with the Centenary of Canberra. It was voted as ‘Australian Airport of the Year’ at the National Airport Industry Awards 2013.
