Our DESIGN Canberra Festival Hub in Civic Square will be activated from 2-20 November 2022 with our Festival Hub Shop, art installations, exhibitions, workshops and events.


Love bespoke, handcrafted objects made locally in Canberra?

Our Festival Hub Shop gives you access to unique, affordable objects – jewellery, textiles, ceramics, glass and wood homewares made by local artists and designers. Shopping local products is good for the environment and contributes to sustainable careers for Australian makers.

Limited edition brooches:

For DESIGN Canberra 2022, in celebration of the the spirit of collaboration that the Festival imbues, renowned contemporary jewellers Blanche Tilden and Phoebe Porter have collaborated on a limited edition range of their ‘General Assembly’ brooches, inspired by urban design, which are available exclusively from the Festival Hub Shop.

Open 12pm – 5pm Tuesday – Thursday, 12pm – 8pm Fridays, 10am – 4pm Saturday + Sunday.


This year, for the first time DESIGN Canberra includes programs for the whole family!

Join with local artists to weave a bush animal, create with clay or imagine your future Canberra in our design thinking workshops.

Explore City West and discover the delights of the public art works in our first ever DESIGN Canberra Craft and Design Trail. This project has given local craftspeople and designers the opportunity to be mentored by senior Canberra makers and explore the potential of making art for public spaces.

Featuring artworks by Fran Romano, Hannah Quinlivan, Lan Nguyen Hoan, Rosie Armstrong, Sally Adair, Dam Sheppard, and Tony Burke.

Mentors: Nick Stranks (Casting), Sam Tompkins (Digital Fabrication), Valerie Kirk (Textile) and Thor Diesendorf (Wood).



Join us every Friday evening and Sunday afternoon during the DESIGN Canberra Festival at the City Sessions: Pop Inn bar + Music. Come unwind and talk about all things Craft and Design at the DESIGN Canberra Festive HUB.
