Design Revisited

Revisit some of the most outstanding design in Canberra across different disciplines and decades in Design Revisited.

This is a unique opportunity to celebrate design history, design education and design excellence in a city of design. Enjoy personal reflections, behind the scenes access, contemporary insights, tours and artist reimaginings.

Two Minutes to Midnight

Two Minutes to Midnight is a new DESIGN Canberra event series which invites designers and thought-leaders  to engage in deeper conversations with the community about the spaces, places and values we need in order to survive and thrive.

Each of the three events in this series will be hosted by a provocateur to encourage honest debate beyond the hyperbole. The provocateur frames the debate, the topic for discussion and, following the presentations, selects two high impact ideas or proposals to action to build a future which is as yet unwritten.

Twilight Drives

DESIGN Canberra’s annual BMW Twilight Drive is a unique opportunity to test drive new BMW models at iconic design destinations throughout the national capital. Experience the ambient lighting of the BMW interiors at dusk, and the latest technology in headlights as the sun sets. Each evening we will visit multiple iconic Canberra locations, curated by DESIGN Canberra and led by architects and designers.

Suburbia’s time in the sun: Bernard Salt keynote talk

DESIGN Canberra is pleased to welcome Bernard Salt as a keynote speaker as part of the festival’s This Is Suburbia thread. This is a timely opportunity to lead conversations with the community about the spaces and places we want, need and deserve to survive and thrive.

DESIGN Canberra acknowledges the Ngunnawal people as the traditional custodians of the ACT and surrounding areas. We honour and respect their ongoing cultural and spiritual connections to this country and the contribution they make to the life of this city and this region. We aim to respect cultural heritage, customs and beliefs of all Indigenous people.
