Building on the hugely successful collaboration 2017 with local artist Jodie Cunningham in Civic Square, DESIGN Canberra is delighted to announce that entries are now open for the Graphic Interventions Competition as part of this year’s festival.
Over the course of the festival, 2 large scale ground artworks will take over city sites at Civic Square and Petrie Plaza, and 10 graphic artworks will be printed onto highly visible windows throughout the CBD.
Local artists and designers are invited to apply with their best geometry-inspired designs to splash through the city in November, with the opportunity to have their work seen by over 90,000 people during the festival. Artworks will be tied in to DESIGN Canberra events, attracting high visibility and fabulous photo opportunities as well as bringing smiles to the faces of festival patrons.
Successful artists will receive an artist fee, as well as having their work professionally produced and installed up to $4,500 in value.
DESIGN Canberra is also calling for CBD businesses to join the fun and display the work of local designers during the festival, for great opportunities to promote their brand and generate social media engagement. Design-loving businesses who are interested in getting involved can contact Michele Grimston, Programs Manager at Craft ACT to discuss at firstname.lastname@example.org
Interested artists can find all the T +Cs and submit entries here.
This project is made possible with support from the ACT Government under the City Renewal Authority’s City Grants Program.
