Home has become a more important place than ever in our current global climate. This year DESIGN Canberra has invited home.by holly to commission a new line of Kirstie Rea’s iconic glass sheds, resembling homely shapes that fit in the palm of your hand.

Kirstie Rea is an internationally renowned glass maker who has made Canberra her home. Kirstie’s recent works have been reflections upon the physical environments that we occupy and our relationship with place. Her glass sheds are beautiful and unique glass kiln formed pieces, which are collected both locally and internationally. This collaboration celebrates Kirstie’s selection as the 2020 designer in residence for DESIGN Canberra.

DESIGN Canberra is also proud to be joined once again by home.by holly who have enduringly commitment to Canberra’s local creative community. Having always called Canberra home, Holly is continually showing care for what Canberran designers and makers craft. These designs will be part of a new line of home.by holly gifts.

Together, these two women have crafted a series of beautiful glass sheds which reflect the comforts of home. Anchored by the theme of ‘care’ in this year’s DESIGN Canberra, this collaboration endeavours to create a design story which captures our community’s unique narrative.
