Hottest 100

Hottest 100

This year, our partners at Capital Brewing Co. have had seven of their craft beers voted for in the GABS (Great Australian Beer Spectacular) Hottest 100 Aussie Craft Beers for 2020.

Tied with Black Hops, they have achieved a personal best having the most beers from any brewery to be featured in the list.

An introduction to the seven great beers voted on by Australians and New Zealanders here:

1 – XPA

Top of the list, #13 “tastes like that 80’s Beach Boys song”. The XPA is a bright tropical number with a hint of citrus, very refreshing and delightfully easy to drink. Like a calypso sunset in a can.

2 – Coast Ale

A delightfully refreshing bear! The Coast Ale was voted #14 for its fresh, crisp and clean taste with a smooth satisfying finish – “the refreshest”.

3 – Rock Hopper IPA

The Rock Hopper IPA was voted as #48. Big and juicy, this west coast IPA is loaded with tropical hop flavours and balanced with a refreshing dry finish.

4. Trail Pale Ale

#46 on the Hottest 100, the Trail is an American pale ale bursting with pine and citrus flavours, a well-balanced mal profile and smooth hop bitterness.

“We called it trail because it rhymes with pale and ale.” – Capital Brewing Co.

5. Evil Eye Red IPA

#75 takes its name from an old tattooed tree stump just outside Canberra, which the Coombes brothers used to pass as children on their way family outings. It’s bursting with tropical fruit and citrus hop flavours, paired with a full bodied caramel malt base.

6. HangLooseJuice Neipa

Voted #72, this righteous blood orange NEIPA tastes like a glass of freshly squeezed juice, bursting with tropical notes and a refreshing bitter finish – “the mid that thinks it’s a full”.

7. Summit SessionAle

Pour hazy, #93 is a beer that is brewed for maximum flavour and sessionability! Packed with tropical hop flavours and finishing refreshingly bitter.
