Meet the BMW’s of the 2020 car wrap competition

A new canvas for designers and artists has been created in the DESIGN Canberra festival car wrap competition.

With thanks to our founding platinum partner, Rolfe Classic BMW, these four cars will be featured throughout the 2020 festival, sporting the winning car wrap designs from our competition.

The BMW i8 Roadster

The BMW i8 Roadster reveals itself as futuristic right down to the last detail. Its progressive lines speak a formal language that can hardly be more dynamic. The most striking feature: the imposing lightweight carbon-fibre gull wing doors, which can be opened comfortably. The athletic front continues to display the individual character of the car and proudly bears the BMW double kidney, flanked by full-LED headlights and redesigned Air Curtains.

Starting at the bonnet, the distinctive V-shaped black belt stretches along the entire car, underscoring its flat silhouette. The impressive streamflow design also optimises airflow and creates unprecedented aerodynamics. Thus, the BMW i8 Coupé is a perfect symbiosis of form and function that knows only one direction: forward.

The BMW X5 M Competition

The BMW X5 M Competition takes the Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) to new heights with its sublime mix of exclusive M design elements. Add to this the M Twin Power Turbo V8 engine with M xDrive and luxurious interiors, and you have a truly outstanding driving experience that is both elegant and dominant. The BMW X5 M Competition achieves undeniable presence with luxurious materials and M specific highlights that promise a unique, sporty and exclusive driving experience.

The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé

Not a typical coupé but rather an incredible experience: the first-ever BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé introduces a new form of authority with a bold character to the compact class. It is above all the uncompromising, performance-oriented aesthetic that unmistakeably reveals its ambitions. Not elegant but extravagant. Not conventional but individual. Not ordinary – but extraordinary. In keeping with high-end technologies and perfectly tuned driving dynamics features, the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé stands out from the crowd with ease and pursues its very own path.

Car wrap category: Makers in the city of design (Craft ACT members)

The BMW 4 Series Coupé

Uncompromisingly non-conformist: the all-new BMW 4 Series Coupé sets itself resolutely and elegantly beyond all existing conventions. The independent design and the classic coupé silhouette reference icons while at the same underlining its progressive character. The sporty lightness transfers seamlessly onto the road, where impressive agility and eye-catching performance send adrenaline levels soaring. As a result, the powerful sports coupé exudes an aura of unattainability, which simultaneously makes it all the more attractive.
