Reduce, Reuse, Recycle: sustainable display at Canberra Centre

DESIGN Canberra is delighted to partner with Canberra Centre to present Reduce, Reuse, Recycle an exhibition which focuses on sustainability and design.

The exhibition was designed by Penny Hardy of Design Community which specialises in interpretive and exhibition design. The Design Community experience is about collaboration and creating memorable, immersive and innovative exhibitions. In the past DESIGN Canberra has worked with Penny to deliver multiple exhibitions in the Canberra Centre including; Everyday Beautiful (2017), Auction Exhibition (2017-19) and HOME: MADE (2017-19).

This exhibition is the third display for the 2019 DESIGN Canberra Festival that Penny Hardy has helped design. This display utilises existing plinths and pairs them with inexpensive painted mesh panels. The whole exhibition can be taken apart and reused in another configuration for future DESIGN Canberra exhibitions. Alongside this display are furniture pieces created by commercial furniture studio Furnished Forever. This studio was founded in 2017 by Canberra-based designers and Craft ACT: Craft + Design Centre members René Linssen and Elliot Bastianon. The brand offers a range of highly functional products to cater for the commercial and residential markets. Furnished Forever is defined by clean lines, crisp geometry and a restricted colour palette. Linssen and Bastianon place great value on Australian manufacturing industries.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle is on display Level 1, Canberra Centre from 4 – 17 November.
