Remembering Enrico Taglietti: architecture tours

During the DESIGN Canberra architecture bus tour (hosted by canberrahouse.com Martin Miles) we visited three examples of Enrico Taglietti’s sculptural architecture in a residential setting: Paterson House (Aranda); Dingle House (Hughes) and The Apostolic Nunciature (Red Hill).

The tour highlighted the themes and elements present throughout Enrico’s long and illustrious career— spreading roof overhangs with banded fascias, an emphasis on horizontality through the use of massing, and battered walls and unpainted surfaces for texture.
