Good Natured Brews – Design Canberra Festival

Good Natured Brews

Good Natured Brews

Capital Brewing Co. is one of the largest independent craft breweries in Australia, 100% owned by its employees. They have been a proud supporter of the DESIGN Canberra festival for three years since 2018.

The local Canberran brewery was formed by a group of close friends who share a love for delicious brews, surfing waves and good vibes. They take the highest quality, all-natural ingredients and some of the world’s best water from the capital’s very own backyard, and with skill and love craft it into something fine.

Brewing with a ‘Good Natured’ spirit is what underpins the work at Capital Brewing Co. Being ‘Good Natured’ for the team means to be doing right by the earth and future generations of beer lovers.

Capital Brewing Co. is currently working towards being a zero-waste brewhouse, starting by reducing water consumption and the production of waste materials and increasing energy efficiency. They are also advocating for sustainable event management, having managed a 88% diversion from landfill at their last event (up from 67%).

This year, Capital Brewing Co. has launched their Trees for Tomorrow project aiming to regreen areas of the Snowy Monaro region. Partnering with Jindabyne-based environmental charity Keep it Cool, Capital Brewing Co. aims to plant 5000 in the area to draw down carbon and create new habitats for wildlife.

One tree will be planted for every case of beer sold throughout the Snowy Mountains region this winter, with the first planting day scheduled at the end of the ski season on 18 September in Home Valley, near Cooma. Trees will also be planted for beers bought over any bar throughout the ski fields, Jindabyne and Cooma.

DESIGN Canberra Festival is proud to have Capital Brewing Co. as a partner for the festival.
